I was born in Japan, but grew up in Tacoma, Washington. For the past few years I've been bouncing between Utah and Washington, but I'm so freaking excited to be back in Salt Lake City where I'm also pursuing my education. Don't worry though, if you're from Washington and are interested in planning a session, I LOVE to travel and am there frequently. I will take any excuse to see a new place and find new adventures. I'm also an official puppy cuddler (specifically my 3-year-old doggo in the photo), avid Cafe Rio eater, and wanna-be baker. My little pup, Shonan (literal translation: little bread), was a rescue pup and stole my heart the moment I saw him.
I started doing photography when I was in high school, and have just continued to become more and more obsessed with it. When I'm at your wedding, I want to be there not just as your photographer, but someone invested in the moments you are having, and someone who genuinely cares about you and your loved ones. I kept hearing brides say they didn't feel close to their photographer, or that they felt their photographer was just another person at the wedding. I strongly feel that when there is a good relationship between you and your photographer though, you'll feel more comfortable in front of the camera, and more authentic, raw moments will be captured. Thus, TAM Photo Collective was started. As your photographer, I'm there for all the most intimate moments. I don't just take the pictures. I'm there to help button your dress and make sure your hair is just right. I'm there to adjust the boutonniere and make you feel comfortable. I'm more than just your photographer. I'm your friend. Your backup. Your go-to helper. And the person who is going to capture every moment you want to cherish forever. I'm TAM.
Nothing makes me happier than capturing people's love and meeting adventurous couples. My favorite sessions are the ones where we take a little hike, or find a new place that's secluded and beautiful. If you're looking for a photographer that will keep you on the path most traveled, pose your every position, and keep your shirt clean, you may want to look for someone else. If you are looking for a photographer who will capture the real organic relationship you have, go on a little walk, get your hair a little messy and your dress a little dirty while capturing raw laughter and joy, then we definitely need to chat!
